Dr. La Noce is the Founder and CEO of Total Mental Wellness, a comprehensive psychiatric practice that is strongly centered on patient-driven and whole-person care. Total Mental Wellness is a female owned business, operated by three female psychiatrists and a female psychotherapist. 

​

Dr. La Noce graduated Cum Laude with Honors from The University of Arizona with a bachelors degree in Human Physiology. She completed medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and then went on to complete her psychiatry residency training at University Hospital and Medical Center in Tarmac, Florida. She is board certified in adult psychiatry and neurology.

​

She has significant experience treating a wide range of psychiatric issues from general psychiatry, PTSD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, ADHD, OCD, and many other diagnoses.

 

Dr. La Noce has treated professional athletes, law enforcement personnel, fire fighters, teachers, executive professionals, therapist, physicians, and many others, wanting to optimize their treatment.

She is currently the President of the Broward Chapter of the Florida Psychiatric Society where she works to increase awareness of mental health issues and promotes advocacy for psychiatry at the state government level. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Broward County Medical Society, which allows her to collaborate with physicians across all specialties to work on achieving optimal clinical outcomes. 

 

 

Holly Nicewicz, DO

Dr. Holly Nicewicz received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and graduated with Magna Cum Laude and Honors from Colorado State University. She obtained her medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University Nevada and completed residency at Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education in Tamarac, Florida. Dr Nicewicz is currently board-certified on the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She also received a publication in 2020 on body dysmorphic disorder and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.

 

Dr. Nicewicz specializes in a variety of psychiatric conditions and treatments including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, insomnia, substance abuse, and genetic testing. 

 

She enjoys working with patients who are interested in enhancing their quality of life through a combination of medications and lifestyle modifications. She believes in the importance of incorporating compassion, kindness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard for all of her clients. Dr. Nicewicz provides a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment for treatment. She uses a holistic approach to wellness and enables the patient to actively participate in their care.

Jane

Jane Kim, DO
She/Her/Hers

Dr. Kim received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California.  She then went on to receive her Master's degree in Kinesiology – Sports Medicine & Injury.  While in California, she taught high school science for several years before completing medical school at Midwestern University in Arizona.  She completed her psychiatry residency in South Florida and served as chief resident in her final year of training.

 

Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, and the Florida Psychiatric Society.  She has published an article in Athletic Therapy Today and has presented a variety of case studies at the annual Florida Psychiatric Society conference.  She has a diverse background in treating mental illness in adults, senior citizens, and veterans and prefers to use a more conservative pharmacologic approach in addressing psychiatric and behavioral issues.  Dr. Kim has a particular interest in treating patients with depression, anxiety, and OCD.

 

When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Kim enjoys watching the Los Angeles Dodgers, checking out new restaurants with her husband, and playing with her Chihuahua named Rusty.

 

 

Ashlee Amparan, DO

Dr. Ashlee Amparan is a second-year psychiatry resident at HCA Woodmont Hospital. She was born in Los Angeles CA and raised in a suburb in Southern California, so she grew up going to the beach regularly and basically living in the water.

 

She played water polo from adolescence throughout her college years. Prior to medical school, she worked as a substitute teacher for kids with psychiatric diagnoses and continued her passion for water polo through coaching.

 

Special interests of hers pertaining to psychiatry include LGBTQIA healthcare. In her free time, she enjoys playing rugby (a new sport she joined since moving to FL), working out, and becoming an aspiring whisky connoisseur. She is excited to be joining Total Mental Wellness and to be working alongside Dr. La Noce!

 

 

Matthew Mills, DO

Dr. Matthew Mills graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. He earned a medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is currently completing his psychiatry residency in Tamarac, Florida.
 
Dr Mills is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Osteopathic Association, and the Florida Psychiatric Society. He has experience treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions in adults, senior citizens and military veterans including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and sleep disorders with medications and lifestyle changes.
 
When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Mills is an avid Detroit sports fan and an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and camping with his dog Piper.

 

 

Rebecca Nosal-Stenersen, DO

Rebecca Nosal-Stenersen, DO

Dr. Stenersen received her Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She then continued on to complete medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently completing her residency training locally at HCA East Florida Division in Tamarac, FL.

 

Dr. Stenersen is actively involved in the Florida Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association. She enjoys participating in research and has presented several case studies at conferences, co-authored an original research study on addiction, and is currently conducting a retrospective review focused on metabolic disorders. She emphasizes a holistic approach to treating patients and has a particular interest in incorporating lifestyle changes in combination with pharmacotherapy. 

 

When she is not seeing patients Dr. Stenersen enjoys going to the movies, exploring new local restaurants, and spending time with her terrier, Bjorn.

Elvan Okaygun, MS received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University. She earned her Master of Science degree in Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and worked with multinational companies in digital publishing. She is an active member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

 

Elvan Okaygun, MS utilizes a person centered and collaborative approach to therapy, informed with evidence based practices. She establishes a therapeutic alliance with her clients and meets them where they are. She puts diversity and inclusivity at the forefront of her practice.

 

As a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, her experience includes working with clients who received a dual diagnosis, suffering from addiction. She is experienced in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, and conflict in relationships. She puts trust and safety for her clients at the epicenter of her work. She believes healing takes place when clients feel safe to live their truth. Elvan Okaygun, MS is looking forward to forming a non-judgmental therapeutic collaboration where you can express and manifest what is meaningful for you.

Acupuncturist

Dongcheng Li is a Florida licensed acupuncturist. He holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine
from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
(NCCAOM®). He had been appointed as a faculty member at American College of Acupuncture
and Oriental Medicine in Houston and Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. Dongcheng Li is a fifth-generation practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the only apprentice in his family. He was trained in China from the time was very young, learning precious and unique protocols, including many herbal and acupuncture recipes and formulas
which are family secrets.

 

In addition to his traditional family training, he graduated at the top of his class from Inner Mongolia Medical University in China in 2001, earning his Medical Degree with a major in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He then received a Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University,  completing his dissertation at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in China in 2004. Dongcheng Li came to the United States in 2007 and earned another Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Texas at Arlington in the US in 2009 and Doctoral Degree in Education at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 2022.
 

He’s also been teaching Acupuncture Board Licensing exam preparation classes for new potential Acupuncturists across the United States and China since 2009. Dr. Li has practiced acupuncture and Chinese medicine for more than 15 years in China and the US. He has his private practice in South Florida. He is specialized in pain management, sports medicine, internal diseases, gynecological diseases and geriatric diseases.
